About Metal Work Powder Coating Location Links
We powder coat a lot more than bicycles, but it is our specialty

UV's past experiences in the bicycle industry are why UV Metal Arts is best suited to handle your next bicycle project. You can count on us for more than powder coating your bike, too. We also do frame work like replacing or removing braze-ons, removing dents, as well as frame and fork alinement adjustments. You will find UV's past experience as a frame builder, bike mechanic, teacher, racer, and bike courier extremely helpful when discussing your project. We inspect every frame and fork for often overlooked damage, free of charge on arrival. This limits the unnecessary investment of your time and energy into a damaged frame (about 5% of jobs). What is powder coating?

Powder coat is a protective and aesthetic coating that is applied over metallic objects. It is different from other coatings as it is applied to the work in an electro-statically charged, powder form. The work is then heated in an oven to 375-400 degrees Fahrenheit, which flows the powder into a variety of different colors and textures. The range in a custom powder coater's palette is limitless. Desired effects are achieved by layering multiple solid to translucent colors that can have a glossy, matte, veined, or wrinkled finish. The final effect is identical to the look of paint, but ten times stronger than its solvent-based cousins. This is why powder coating is the ideal finish for objects that require a durable and protective finish like bicycles, furniture, brackets, auto and motorcycle parts.
